Goodbye to gases

Vehicle Exhaust Removal Systems are fast becoming a necessity in the workplace as automotive service department managers try to save money, improve productivity in their service departments and take care of the general wellbeing of their staff.

Stuart Chisnall, managing director of AtSource Extraction Systems based in Auckland, has installed well over 150 Plymovent vehicle exhaust extraction systems throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and sees businesses wanting cleaner and healthier working environments.

We are seeing an increasing number of businesses contact us looking for solutions to their staff health issues, or ways to help them increase the productivity of their staff in the workplace.

The function of our systems is to create a cleaner working environment that is healthier for staff and pleasant for clients, says Stuart who has recently worked on extraction system projects with the New Zealand Fire Service, Continental Car Services Audi and Peugeot workshops, West City Holden, Toyota, Nissan NZ, and NZ Army Schools and Training Centres.

Our extraction system has had some really positive effects on our business, says Duane Jarrett, after sales manager from Continental Car Services Ltd, customers think it looks professional and clinical and notice the lack of exhaust fumes in the workshop AND the showroom areas.

Our employees find the workshop cleaner to work in, making them happier and healthier which is great for the business!

An extraction system impacts this type of business not only by improving the health of the employees and therefore lowering absenteeism, but also by reducing cleaning costs, as there is less grease and grime in the workplace environment normally caused by the exhaust fumes. A win-win situation for management!

Plymovents mission statement is to reduce the health hazard of vehicle exhaust emissions in the workplace and raise awareness of the financial impact that these health risks can have on businesses.

The continual emission of petrol and diesel fumes in auto service departments can have a life long effect on its employees, bringing with it high levels of absenteeism costing businesses large sums of money each year.

Extensive research reveals the presence of high levels of carcinogens in many of the hazardous chemical components of petrol and diesel engines, something that many NZ business owners would rather avoid at all costs.

The New Zealand Fire Service has installed Plymovent systems in many stations around the country.

The potential health risks posed in their working environment have been identified by fire service management and fire fighters who had concerns over health issues as diesel fumes coated walls, clothing, and any other gear left uncovered.

By installing a low cost, and low maintenance Plymovent system, there have been dramatic results through the elimination of diesel exhaust fumes from the fire station.

Having recently entered into partnership with George Stock and Company, AtSource Extraction Systems hope that they can raise greater awareness of their product throughout the auto servicing industry and demonstrate how Plymovent can offer cost effective solutions to health and safety, productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
