Sydney Motorshow 05 
 

A huge thank you must go to Jaguar New Zealand and the Premier Auto Group for the kind invitation to attend the recent Australian Motorshow in Sydney. Jaguar’s stunning new XK was our primary focus for the trip and when asked if the car was worth the trip, the answer is an emphatic "yes!"

Richards and Whincup race the Tasmanian Dodo 

New Zealand has a new V8 hero driver, and a new V8 hero team. Jason Richards – after five years in V8 Supercars – suddenly became the centre of attention in the class when he scored podium finishes at both the big endurance races, third at Sandown and a close second at Bathurst. He was also fast at the following round, Surfers Paradise.

Electric vehicle research goes four-wheel-drive 

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is accelerating work on electric vehicle research. Following quickly on production of a Colt EV test vehicle, the company has now developed a Lancer Evo IX with four independent electric motors driving the wheels.

Test - don't guess 
 

Arguably, the most important mechanical function of any motor vehicle is the braking system. Rob Gosling from Sulco Equipment points out "whether you are looking at more ways to increase workshop revenue or you are a transport operator considering the changes to brake coding and how best to meet compliance, the first place to start is test equipment".
