Richards and Whincup race the Tasmanian Dodo
New Zealand has a new V8 hero driver, and a new V8 hero team. Jason Richards – after five years in V8 Supercars – suddenly became the centre of attention in the class when he scored podium finishes at both the big endurance races, third at Sandown and a close second at Bathurst. He was also fast at the following round, Surfers Paradise.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is accelerating work on electric vehicle research. Following quickly on production of a Colt EV test vehicle, the company has now developed a Lancer Evo IX with four independent electric motors driving the wheels.
